Why You Might Need Ring Resizing
There are several reasons why resizing an engagement ring may be necessary. The excitement during the proposal may have led to a hasty measurement, or factors like seasonal changes, weight fluctuations, or pregnancy could have altered your finger size. Whatever the cause, resizing ensures your cherished symbol of love fits comfortably and securely.
Signs You Might Need a Resize
- The ring spins: If your ring is rotating around your finger, it’s likely too large.
- Tight fit: If you’re struggling to remove or wear the ring, it may be time for a slight increase in size.
- Comfort: Engagement rings should be worn comfortably every day. Any discomfort, redness, or imprints left on the skin might signal the need for resizing.

Our jewellers are highly skilled in resizing rings while preserving their integrity and design. However, the impact of resizing can vary depending on the specific ring. We will let you know if there are any potential risks involved in the proposal, during the consultation, or after the jeweller reviews your ring.
Once you’ve filled out our Ring Resizing Form and accepted the proposal, we’ll schedule a fitting session at our Docklands office. During the session, we’ll take measurements of your ring finger to your desired size, ensuring a perfect fit. Once the resizing is complete, we’ll notify you when your ring is ready for pick-up.
Most rings can be resized, but factors like the type of metal, ring design, and gemstone setting can impact this. Rings made from gold, platinum, or silver are typically resizable, while intricate or non-traditional designs (e.g., eternity bands) or rings with certain stones may pose limitations. We will assess your ring based on the information you provide to us.
In many cases, yes. However, depending on the size adjustment and the placement of the engraving, there may be limitations. Our jewellers will assess the ring and inform you if the engraving might be affected during the resizing process.
